How light in a room effects a painting

I want to start posting paintings when they are
hanging in a room. The different light effects
that happen during the time of day is amazing
on how it effects the colors in a painting. A
painting is a living thing in its environment.
"Yes I might start chanting". Enjoy! Ed

Painting The Student

I worked on this yesterday in north light.
By working this way I was able to add more
greens, reds, orange and silver to tone down
the values and make them look softer.
Enjoy! ED

Sunday, March 7th 2010

Got to work on a painting I started two weeks ago.
The coniditions were the same. Except it was
only 36° outside. I had a great day that morning.
The birds were making a racket "Spring is coming."

Sunday, February 21st sketch

Went up to paint this Sunday. I wanted to get
at least one more painting of the snow before it
all disappears. Its getting lighter in the morning
the temperature was around 32˚. A gust of wind
came from nowhere and almost knocked over my easel.
That's when I decided to quit while I was ahead....
Enjoy!!! Ed
